Easy Background

We will be making the outside tile.

This is very easy.
I made this using PSP X2 but you should be able to do it with earlier or later versions.
You will need to have a good working knowledge of psp and pixels in order to do this tutorial.

Open a new transparent image, 28x28.
Zoom in 800% so you can see what you're doing and turn on your grid.

Pick two colors, one dark and one light.
I am using #6a2b2b for my dark color and #ab6661 for the lighter color.

Flood fill the image with your lighter color.

Add a new layer and with your paintbrush set to one pixel,
draw a line one pixel wide along the entire outline using your dark color.

step 1

We're going to be painting straight lines down and across the image.

Leave 3 spaces and draw a line from the top of the image to the bottom.
Leave 4 spaces and draw your next line from the top to the bottom.
Leave 4 spaces again and draw a line from the top to the bottom.
Leave 3 spaces and draw a line from the top to the bottom.
Leave 3 spaces and draw one more line from the top to the bottom.
This is what you should have so far.

step 2

Now we're going to draw lines using the same spacing going across your image.
Leave 3 spaces and draw a line across the image.
Leave 4 spaces and draw a line across the image.
Leave 4 spaces and draw a line across the image.
Leave 3 spaces and draw a line across the image.
Leave 3 spaces and draw a line across the image.
This is what your image should look like.

step 3

Merge visible and save as a jpg.
